I contemplated the best way to start this post. I mean, how dare you say that there are no little things?
If truly little things donāt exist, or size is irrelevant to circumstances, how do we differentiate between big problems and small problems?
If you watch cartoons, you would have observed that every time an elephant is portrayed, it is shown to be afraid of the mice.
I mean, if something as humongous as an elephant is afraid of something as small as a mouse, something is wrong.

Fun fact: Do you know the elephant can smell danger? Itās true, the elephant can indeed smell a rat [pun intended].
You must have been in a situation where something so irrelevant became the elephant in the room.
Maybe something as basic as being so busy that you forgot to call your girlfriend, or the comma you didnāt put in the scholarship essay you desperately needed.
āI love cooking my family and my dog.ā
[Just add the commas and it wonāt read weird]
The truth is, you think that there are little things, but that thought is a myth. Small things quickly become big things when you ignore them; itās a domino effect that causes catastrophic scenarios.
If you really think about this, youāll see life differently.
After several mistakes, it begins to make sense, and because they are not easily visible, they can be either overlooked, underestimated, or even ignored as a priority.
I made you a list on how to shield you from the āicebergā of ālittle thingsā so you donāt get caught unawares like the crew of the Titanic.

HOW TO AVOID THE TRAP OF āLITTLE THINGSā
Think about the consequences:
You need to develop an awareness to notice small details and potential issues before they become bigger problems.
Itās easier said than done, true. However, you know the things you tag as little, we do it all the time.
Sometimes, our procrastination gets accompanied by disaster. Sometimes, they do not. Nevertheless, you need to intentionally be aware and form the habit of dotting Iās and crossing Tās.
Weigh every task as equals:
The truth is, nobody wants to do the ālittle thingā first. Itās so small, it can be let to be done later, then you forget.
You see, when you write an exam, you are advised to attempt the questions you know first, before coming around to attempt the difficult tasks. Did your dad/mum ever tell you that?
You donāt have to prioritise the little tasks for later. You can do that first and get it over with, but ālazinessā always gets the best of us. Donāt wait till it affects you, when you can avoid it.

Conduct self-assessments:
If you follow the first two points, you wonāt have a problem. Remember, this is something you already know, but you just canāt get yourself to do. Thatās why the last point is of great importance.
You should set aside time for reviews in various aspects of life and learn from past errors to create better approaches so you can pay more attention to details and handle the ālittle thingsā better.
Have you ever been in a situation where something so little became a huge mistake? Share your story in the comments.
